Wall Hanging

(Cuttings based on 44” wide material) 40 ½” W x 36” L
1/3 yard gold (rooster background)
¼ yard tan (henhouse background)
1/3 yard light tan patterned (plump hen background)
1/3 yard green (skinny hen background)
1/3 yard gold pattern (running hen background)
¼ yard reddish/rust (nest background)
¼ yard brown for inner border (4-1 ½” strips)
You will have leftover on each of these to use in piecing blocks
*** ½ yard gold chicken wire for outer border (4-4 ½” strips) this is an exact amount – NO LEFTOVER
Scraps of yellow, gold, brown, off white, burgundy, navy, rust, green, purple and cream to be used for hens, rooster, beaks, feet, wings, nest, inner nest, eggs, henhouse, lettering, combs and gobblers.
1 1/3 yards of batting
1 1/3 yards of backing
1/3 yard navy for binding
1 yard fusible – I use HeatnBond Lite
An appliqué pressing sheet is very helpful


1/3 yard of your choice color – you can make apron all one color or two colors or can add trims at the top and bottom. I did two trims at the top using scrap materials 3” w x 14 ¼” (chicken wire) and 1 ½” x 14 ½” (brown)
Scraps of yellow, gold, rust, green, navy, brown, purple – whatever colors you want your hen and rooster, wings, feet, beaks, lettering
Scrap of fusible – I use HeatnBond Lite
